Lime and dolomite are essential raw materials for the steel industry, the chemicals industry, agriculture, for building materials and for flue gas cleaning. They have made a crucial contribution to many achievements of our modern world.

Our subsidiary, Maerz Ofenbau AG, is the world market leader for lime kilns and is the competence centre for lime in our group of companies. Utilising ThyssenKrupp Polysius knowhow, Maerz now also provides rotary kiln systems, annular shaft kilns, gas suspension calciners and plants for limestone preparation and further refinement of burnt lime and has thus become a vendor of integrated plants for the lime industry.

Thanks to the combination of knowhow and experience from Maerz, ThyssenKrupp Polysius and RCE in the lime industry, Maerz can provide customer-specific solutions. The fields of application of the different kiln types compliment each other and are employed to suit the specific requirements of a project – such as production capacity, fuel, raw material particle size, required lime quality, etc..

Maerz has so far constructed around 500 kilns in more than 60 countries all around the world and therefore has the most extensive reference list for lime kilns.
